last night i was asked to teach the bible lesson for the Awana K-5 kids. it was great to see God’s beautiful children and to teach them. the memory verse was Matthew 6:26 and the theme was “God provides.”
as i look around my bedroom and try and find every way possible not to write tomorrow’s sermon, i can see so many things that God has given me. not just necessities, but many things:
clothes, shoes, 2 paychecks and 1 financial aid check, 7 sleeves of Callaway i(s) golf balls, box of Titleist NXT golf balls, Proco Rat distortion pedal (bday gift from little mats in NY!), my seminary notes from class, cell phone, wallet, iPod…
what a great reminder that our heavenly Father feeds the birds and that we are more valuable than they. at least for today i will give thanks to God for being my provider
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
